From US Air Force Officer to Ogden Local
I am running for the District 1 City Council Seat because I believe I can represent Central Ogden voters with courage and common sense.
Devoted to Ogden, Heart and Soul
I moved to Utah after graduating from the US Air Force Academy in 2013 and I decided to buy my first house in Ogden. I knew very little about the area, but I quickly realized that Ogden was a great town with a rich history and a bright future. I was reassigned overseas in 2015, but deep down I knew that life would eventually take me back to Utah. After 7 years of active service with Air Force and multiple deployments around the world, I knew that it was time to start a family–so I left the military and headed back to Ogden with my wife Reina in 2020.
Today, I still live in that very first property I purchased here in Central Ogden with my wife and two (now three) daughters. Many of our friends are in the neighborhood and my office is within walking distance from our home. For this reason, I am uniquely committed to advocating for the residents of District 1. It is the heart of our town, and I look forward to the opportunity to serve my neighbors as a Council Member that represents them with a deep understanding of the challenges we face.
As a member of the Ogden City Council, I will work diligently for the community that has made such an impact on my life. Vote for me and I’ll serve with integrity, tenacity, and dedication.
I Will Support:
- Less bureaucracy and lower taxes
- Lower barriers to utilize Ogden parks and facilities
- Reduction in the number of ordinances burdening citizens
- Independent Small Businesses in Ogden
- Lower speed limits in Central Ogden
- Better maintenance of basic infrastructure (sidewalks, streets, etc.)
- The Ogden Police Department (OPD)
I Will NOT Support:
- Higher Property Taxes
- Increases to water, sewer, and stormwater utility rates
- Hiring additional non-essential City Employees
- City funded development projects that do not relate to critical infrastructure
- Higher fees for building permits and business licensing
Ultimately, I believe that this race for District 1 should be focused on local issues that impact each of us on a daily basis. This approach would tackle simple things like the ability to walk with our kids on proper sidewalks or regularly filling potholes so residents don’t have to swerve to avoid hazards, but we also should include more complex initiatives like traffic management for safer streets and reducing costs for local businesses and small developers so that Ogden retains and attracts great people that will create jobs and build a better community for future generations.
